THE PHOTO SESSION

  • When should I book my portrait session?

You should book as soon as you can, as the calendar fills up quickly. July through September are busy months for seniors, so you might want to reserve your date at least 4 weeks before.

  • What should I wear for my portrait session?

It is very important to wear an outfit that feels like you and that you’re comfortable in. The outfit that you wear will help choose the location and set the mood for your photos. Accessories like big necklaces, bracelets, hats, earrings and fun shoes photograph well, they make the session look and feel more styled. Props and things that are special to you really make your pictures special. If you’re not sure on what to wear, Pinterest is a great tool to find fun ideas for outfits! We will also send you a PDF full of tips and ideas!

  • Should I get my hair and makeup done?

Professional hair and makeup does looks amazing on camera and removes the stress of getting ready on your own.  Whether it’s lash extensions or blown-out hair, professional hair and makeup will give you an extra boost of confidence in front of the camera, and it always photographs like a dream. Whether you get a sister, mom, or a friend to help you with your hairstyle or you’re hiring a professional, we suggest practicing your desired hairstyles a few days before the photoshoot to get the look you want in advance, that way you won’t have to be overwhelmed on the day of the shoot and stress out about your hair turning out the wrong way.

  • How long will my portrait session be?

Your senior session will vary between 1 to 3 hours. No two sessions are the same, it depends on locations, number of outfits, etc. We take our time to work with you every step of the way so you can feel more relaxed and let the true you shine through! Be prepared to have some fun and bring a friend if you like – friends tend to keep people laughing!

  • What is your weather policy?

Outdoor photoshoots run the risk of Mother Nature not cooperating. If it is sunny or cloudy the day of your session, GREAT! Clouds actually help produce even light and sunny days are beautiful as well! We will reschedule your session if it is raining, too dark, or too windy. Although Colorado weather can change on a dime,  I will contact you the morning of your session if the weather forecast isn’t the best. We’ll wait as long as possible before making the final call and reschedule.

  • Location permits

Some places require photographers to carry a photo permits (often date specific). As professionals, we are equipped to acquire the necessary permits. Often this requires advanced planning, and certain locations may require an additional fee. We can discuss this during your consultation!

  • Destination sessions

Destination sessions are available to cover personal and/or extraordinary locations outside of the Denver/Centennial area. Additional fees will apply for long distance travel. If you have a location in mind, let’s talk!
